I Need Some Inspiration

It’s time for me to change the display in GSA’s case, and I need help deciding what to do.  I had Black History Month stuff up in February, and a display to raise awareness of the violence that’s being perpetrated against GLBTQ folks up in March.  I need a new theme for April, and I’m coming up empty.  Any suggestions?

  1. It’s national poetry month, how about poems by and about the GLBT community?

  2. Earth day is coming up on April 22

  3. April is also Autism Awareness month; or you could do something about domestic violence? I think that popped into my head because I recently read a story at Cranky Epistles about one of her students who is in an abusive relationship.

  4. I suggest you do a random collage of things that are mentioned in the works of a particular author and se e if someone can figure out who!

I think that if you do something that is more specific to you then you will do a better job with it.

And why can’t you tie in some disease awareness/consciousness raising with something that is more artsy? Often the most powerful awareness of a problem is given through fiction.

I think if you look at the GSA display case as your scrapbook and art project rather than a chore then it will be a lot easier to get the job done!

  5. This comment is from Daz, who’s been having some sort of problem leaving notes on my blog. I’m trying to figure out why, but until then, here’s what he emailed me on Sunday:

Day of Silence is April 25th this year. What about a display representing all of those whose voices have been silenced throughout history because of race, sexual identity, gender, etc.?
